Artist & inspirational poet Cheri Denis is a painter who writes and a writer who paints.

Cheri`s paintings speak volumes to the heart. Her captivating images of butterflies, flowers, wildlife and God's children, young and old, reflect the peace and beauty of the country setting of the Denis home, with the seasons of nature paralleling the seasons of life.

“I have painted in watercolor for over 35 years and love the delicate transparency of the medium and it's compatibility with my fascination for detail. I also enjoy my more recent painting in acrylic for the vibrancy and rich nature of the medium. For my watercolors I see the completed piece in my mind before I begin painting. For my acrylics, the piece evolves as I paint and I am always quite surprised at the outcome.”

“What I like best about my work is the actual process of creating a new piece, like the emerging of a butterfly from its cocoon. I feel my brush has added a personal touch, a brushstroke of beauty to the world.”

Cheri's poetry paints word pictures of our most cherished relationships, conveying simple, yet timeless messages with the classic themes of family, faith and love.

Her words are filled with hope and speak
of the relationships that give our lives meaning and purpose... "A Mother's Love", "My Father's Heart", "Child of Heaven", "If Only", "Sister", "Brother", "True Love", "Daughter", "My Son", "Flowers For Heaven", "Each day... A Gift" and "The Garden" are just some of the titles you will discover here. They are messages about birth and death, life and loss, pain and healing, sorrow and comfort.

Cheri’s poems are available on parchment and now also as ‘Forget Me Not Heirlooms’ engraved in metal. In a CKER Radio interview, the host Jana Lapel commented that through her poetry Cheri was given a voice to speak the language of the heart.

“My paintings and poetry focus on the beauty, love and truth that sustain us throughout a lifetime.”
