Her
captivating images of butterflies, flowers, wildlife
and God's children, young and old,
reflect the peace
and beauty of the country setting of the Denis home,
with the seasons of nature paralleling the seasons
of life.
“I have painted in watercolor for
over 35 years and love the delicate transparency of
the medium and it's compatibility with my
fascination for detail. I also enjoy my more recent
painting in acrylic for the vibrancy and rich nature
of the medium. For my watercolors I see the
completed piece in my mind before I begin painting.
For my acrylics, the piece evolves as I paint and I
am always quite surprised at the outcome.”
“What I like best about my work
is the actual process of creating a new piece, like
the emerging of a butterfly from its cocoon. I feel
my brush has added a personal touch,
a brushstroke of beauty to the world.”

through her poetry Cheri was given a voice to speak
the language of the heart.
